Mick Whincup
I qualified as a Registered Nurse (Adult) in 1996. It was while I was training to be a nurse that I became interested in hypnosis. Since 2003, I have worked as a Specialist Nurse with the Acute Pain Service at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. While working in the Acute Pain Service I saw the potential for using hypnosis in the management of pain, and I began my training with the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy in September 2006. After much study and academic work I gained a Certificate in Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, passing with a Distinction, and I am now working towards my diploma.
Hypnotherapy is the therapeutic use of hypnosis, and is a proven method for dealing with, phobias, increasing confidence, reducing stress, pain management, aiding relaxation, relieving exam and driving test nerves, stopping smoking, losing weight, controlling pain and many other problems and conditions.
Hypnosis is safe, effective and without any of the unwanted side-effects that may be caused by prescription medication.
I believe in working ethically, delivering therapy tailored to suit the individual, while maintaining strict confidentiality. I am registered with the National Register of Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists (NRHP).
