Bowen Technique
Originating in Austrailia, The Bowen Technique is a remedial and holistic form of hands-on body work used for treating both acute and chronic health conditions.
Your body is capable of repairing and healing itself. By constantly adapting to internal and external demands, it can regulate itself, bringing your back into a state of balance, known as homeostasis. If these repair systems are compromised through stress factors, injury or illness, your body functions less efficiently resulting in symptoms such as pain, restricted movement and postural problems or an overwhelmed immune system. The Bowen Technique can be used to improve your body's ability to restore optimal balance.
Unique rolling-type movements, performed at specific points of the body over muscles, tendons and ligaments, create an opportunity for your body to deeply relax and work out what needs to be done to regain its natural healing capabilitiles.
No manipulation or force is used and there are virtually no contra- conditions. This gentle approach means that Bowen Technique is suitable for all, from the fit and active to those with chronic pain, from infancy onwards and during pregnancy.
